Last week boys in the Top 8 showcased their talent hoping to win South Africa’s hearts and hopefully make it to this year’s Idols SA Top 10 and win those amazing prizes that Top 10 contestants walk away with not to mention that million rand cash prize money the winner gets to walk away with, this week it’s the girls turn to impress the voting public. Truth be told we see a winner in this year’s females, they’re just too good we hope they will do even better for their first live performances. Without wasting time let’s see what songs the girls will be singing for us this afternoon for Season 14:
In no particular order: Lethabo Ramatsui aka Wattahmelon (18) – Hailing from Attridgeville in Pretoria will be singing the powerful Lose to win ka- Fantasia. This is a big song we hope Wattahmelon will not only bring it, but slay it too. She is on our list of the ones to watch.
Zamagambu Memela aka Xae (18) – The Pinetown, Durban will be singing SZA‘s Broken Clocks. We don’t know the song as well as the artist so we looked the song up on line it’s a beautiful vibe, but failed to envision her performing it to us. We sincerely hope she will use her sharp tone on this song’s bridging and she might stand a chance of pulling it off. What happened to good song choice, eish this child mara she is also in our one to watch list.
Thando Mngomezulu 19, the one with zero personality will be singing J Hud‘s Giving Myself, tjoe these kids mara. These are powerful yet difficult songs they’re choosing to sing for us today. However, should her rendition be of good par she stands a chance of being cemented in South Africans minds until the end of the season.
Bongiwe Pearl Mdaka (23) – A boutique sales lady from Melelani in Mpumalanga impressed us in theatre week she chose to sing one of our favourite artists song, Brandy’s Almost Doesn’t Count and we fell in-love with her rendition and confidence. Today she will be singing Emeli Sande‘s Beneath your Beautiful. Another artist whose tone we don’t fancy, good luck girl!
Is this 17 year old related to Bongiwe Silinda of the Musa season?… Nosipho Silinda (17) from Ladysmith in KZN will sing SIA‘s Alive. Sia‘s songs are different and awaqhelwa if you don’t know your singing story, you better stay away from her songs. We trust Nosipho will do justice to this song. She’s one contestant that has shown growth in the competition thus far. One to watch!
Underdog of note, one to watch is Ntokozo Makhathini, 18, of Witbank. she will be singing Zahara‘s Ndiza. One of Thobani’s favourite songs, we remember how we would drive around to every event Zahara was performing at in Gauteng, because of the love Thobani had for Zahara.
Delene Swartz 21, has one of those annoying singing tones for us, she is good, but not on our list. Today she will be performing Whitney Houston‘s It’s not right, but it’s okay.
Lastly, but definitely not our least is the youngest of this year’s season, Capetonian Yanga Sobetwa, 16, will be singing Adele‘s Don’t you remember. Sh*t! we not only love this song we hope and trust that she will do best! one to watch!
Like the title of this post says, these are just mere predictions, actual performances and voters votes will determine who of these boys will make it to the Top 10 of this year’s Idols.
