Just In: Babes Wodumo joins Capacity Relations???
Hot on the heels of African Star Communications (ASC) releasing a statement on Sunday that they had part ways with Babes Wodumo, real name Bongekile Simelane, it has now emerged that the singing sensation is under new public relations management.
Capacity Relations is hard at work cleaning her previous image of not having a team behind her, by working on rebranding her as an IT girl, changing her look, positioning her as a game changer by being an all-round entertainer and not just a cute girl.
This new development came to light this week when Babes Wodumo was interviewed on prime time shows like the Thando Thabethe 5FM drive time show, Metro FM???s DJ Fresh??? breakfast show, shot an episode of the Real Gobhoza and performed with Distraction Boys, also signed to West Ink record label and had several print media interviews and photoshoots.
???It???s true that ASC doesn???t sign record label as per their company policy and as stated on their press release announcing the short-lived partnership. However, one woman???s loss is another woman???s gain as Capacity Relations has now pouched the singer, dancer and actress alongside her crew,??? said an insider.
Her look has also changed as she was spotted a week ago at the Guess A-list event wearing a denim jumpsuit, red heels and an Original Shandis merchandise sweater.
???Her weaves quality look upgraded even though she has kept her signature colourful weaves. For her RGB interview she wore a silk jumpsuit that was bought in New York styled by her new team,??? said a close friend.
Fans noticed a great change in the way Babes Wodumo handled her interviews with Cape Town???s influencer Dumisani Dadabini commenting that: ???It???s clear from her DJ Fresh interview that Babes got some media training.???
Capacity Relations confirmed that they???re working with Babes and some of West Ink artists.
???She is hardworking, humbled and business savvy. This week we just saw a side of her that the public is yet to experience.???
ASC statement read: ???African Star Communications has always had a company policy of not representing record labels in their entirety but rather individual artists. We deem it unethical to represent a record label, when we speak on behalf of a number of artists under different stables.???
Mbali Maphumulo is also one of Capacity Relations newest clients hence her recent prime media coverage.
Babes and Mampintsha could not be reached for comment.
